WALLACE FIELD
October 3 • 7pm
Some performers derive power from the vocal cords they were blessed with, others from their way with words. Wallace Field offers the best of both worlds. The preciseness of her language and the force of her singing combine to charge her songs with the dark and hard-earned beauty that grows out of trauma that she provides clear-eyed portraits of. While the stories being told are compelling enough, on songs like “Weep” and “Water Me” there are legitimate hooks that are guaranteed to get the song stuck in your head (we don’t think we’re alone in this), and throughout the whole album, there are so many moments of poignant honesty and raw authenticity that remind us what we love about truly gifted storytellers rooted in folk traditions.
We genuinely can’t wait for this performance and to hear how the standout tracks on All Costs come alive.
